12 May is coming and I have not yet finish revising for my exam! I better rush through today. I was supposed to start yesterday but was too tired after helping out with NYJC college day. I hope I can pull through this well.

A levels is in 6 more months! I wish Jc life 2.5 years. That would be awesome. Oh well, I guess you can't have everything in life. On a brighter note, I managed to get gold for Napfa. It means 2 months off your NS. Woots!

Student Council Election

I have been surviving the past few weeks of jc life. Physics is like one the the hardest subject to catch up with. I am like just copying the lecturer's answer and not understandig a thing. Today had a briefing for student council.....have camp next week and have to go for election. Formed a group for campigning which consists of people from different class. Hope all goes well.

Choice of JC

After fretting for 4 days, I finally concluded my 1st choice of jc. I decided to go NYJC as it is more suitable for me. I always wanted to go Temasek jc but after what my family told me, I decided that it was not suitable for me. I realised the main thing why I wanted to go TJC was for the prestige so that when people ask me which jc I am from, I would proudly say Temasek jc. However it is really far from my house which is in serangoon. I have to wake up at 5.45am to reach school at around 7.15am. I would die from lack of sleep as normally in jc you sleep around 12-1am so having only 5 hours of sleep will kill me and I would unable to concentrate during lectures. Hence NYJC is more suitable for me. I don't want to be the bottom as it is very demoralising.

O level Results

I was like freaking nervous today. Had a dream that I would score 11 points. On that day of the reults when my name was flashed on the screen for 7 distinctions and I did not get a chance to shake hand with mrs ang as emily went up stage and had L1R5 10 so i thought like "eh.....don't tell me I scored a double digit score". In the end I scored 7 distinctions:4A1 and 3 A2 so my L1R5 was 8. Even though I scored well, I did not get my wish to go up stage to shake hand with themrs ang(our principal). Now I have to think of which jc to go to. Temasek jc sounds really good.

The june holidays are almost over but to me it never started in the first place cos nearly everyday had to go back to school.....well at least I still had some fun.

I decided to just blog again after looking at my past blog. Just got back my results. Found out that I was 3rd in level. For the first time in my secondary school life I am in the top 10%. Not bad I can get the bursary award. And I managed to get a holiday job at SATA. Not bad the pay. $10 per hour for weekends. Ok I think thats all for now. Most probably next time I blog again won't be soon.

Today got back the maths st and I scored 29/30. Not too bad. just that my untidyness caused me 1 marks. The english lesson was boring and I just fell asleep. Later on in chemistry there was a chemical equation test and I made two msitake. Hopefully I can pass.

Today was the first day of my Beijing trip. I woke up at 5am and my mother fetched me to airport as I arranged to meet with Seng Kiat at 6am for breakfast. Later went to meet the teachers at 6.45. The flight was 6 hours long. We reached Beijing at around 3. We met the tour guide and boarded the bus to go a place which I forgot the name to see the flag being raised down. Later on we went for dinner and ate Beijing roast duck. We went back to the hotel. The hotel was a three star hotel and it was a bit lousy.

Okay today had a great day....The first thing I did in the morning was to go to pentagon to do a blood test to find out what is my blood group. Later in the afternoon I went to watch pirates of the caribbean 3. I should not have chosen the 5.35 time slot. Ended up we had nothing to do for two hours. The movie was a bit boring and steven fell asleep after 30 mins. It was quite a good day I would say.

Today football was a bit boring.....not many people turn up so is was not that fun.....later on in the afternoon I went to watch spiderman 3 with wei kit,dominic ng, chon beng, david, sean, kong him and sherman. It was quite a fun day.

Today was a good day. The piece of good news was Chelsea winning Man U in the FA cup finals. Finally I do have to study at all. Later on went jogging and found out i deproved a lot. I ran around 11 mins. Never mnid I shall train some more. Tomorrow 3I vs 3H for street soccer. Hope our class will win

Mid-year is going to start tomorrow for english and chinese paper 1. Mr Lim kept on reminding us that mid-year is giong to start soon. I feel a bit stressed out on hearing the reminders. Never mind as long as I do my best, I am sure everything would be fine.

Finally this week has ended. I can finally breathe a sign of relieve as I manage to survive all the tests this week. But i think I will flunk Bio. Nvm I shall try harder next time. Tomorrow my tutor is coming back to teach me after three weeks. He could not teach me for those three weeks as he had to study for his exams.

I think I am getting very unfit. Dominic won me today by a big margin for 2.4 and he was the only one who got 10 mins plus amoung 3G,3H and 3I people. For three years in a row I cannot win him in 2.4.

Today went joggin with my family at hougang stadium and I bumped into xin yuan and si ying. After that my famliy and I went to the fitness hall. At around 11, we went fot lunch at hougang mall KFC. Guess what I bumped into xin yuan and si ying again. I hope tml NAFA test would be alright

Yes! Today heats for 4 x 100m Baith, Alvin, Gregory and me got first. But when you compare the overall result for both 4 x 100m heats, we got third.

Yes! Liverpool thrashed Arsenal 4:1 and Peter Crouch scored 3 out of the 4 goals. Now if only Chelsea could overtake Man U, that would be great as the injuries list for Man U does not seem to affect them as they thrashed Blackburn 4:1. If this goes on, I think Chelsea would not be able to win the primiership for the third time.

Chemistry test result

Today I got back the chemistry test result. I scored 15/20 and I could have get 16/20 if not for my untidy cancellation for Q3. Ms teng said that she could not see anything. Ended up I lost one mark due to me being untidy. Guess I have to write neater next time.

Went to Triple 3, The Buffet Restaurant at Meritus Mandarin Hotel to celebrate my birthday with my family. I know it is way past my birthday but this was put off due to the Sec 3 adventure camp and me having to complete my holiday homework. There was a wide variety of food there. Pity the school holiday has ended and school starts tomorrow and I have to start studying again for test.

It is true that youth are quick to follow anything around the world which appears ‘hip’ or ‘in’. It is in their nature to want to be like young people in others parts of the world. Even I also want to fit in .I have never met a youth who does not want to fit in. youths are quick to relate and to follow what they think is fashionable. Fashion includes dress, taste in music, language, hair styles, drug taking and even moral values. It is impossible to control the coming of fashion from other countries. With television, books and magazines easily available, the world has shrunk and what is discovered as ‘fashion’ in one part of the world spreads like wildfire everywhere else.

Youths are usually referred to as teenagers, are rebels because of a restlessness within. We want to assert our individuality and the values of our peers, and break away from the influence of our parents and their parents’ generation. This restlessness makes us teenagers keep closer to our groups. We tend to seek relationships and may sometimes in the process, got too carried away in order to gain acceptance from our peers. The influence of the group can be a bad thing. As what if the group leader decides to be ‘hip’ and little thought is given to consequences. For instance, a group of youth youths who go about vandalizing public and private property because they think that it is fashionable.

Hence, we see that the tendency to be slaves to fashion can lead to a lot of danger. Can anything be done to curb it? in very regimented societies youth are controlled by the tenets of custom and religion and in some cases, force is used to make sure laws are obeyed. Youths will be dealt with as if they are common criminals if they breached the laws. Of course this is just the other extreme. Youths are like kites, if you hold them too tightly, it will break and if you hold it too loosely, it will fly away.

Youth is just a passing age and one where naturally there is rebelliousness. Everything should be done to ensure that the adults understand why youths behave this way. Methods to guide them at the time when they are becoming slaves to fashion must be found. There are many harmless outlets that youths could be channeled to at the time that they began this obsession with fashion. Some of these could be doing social work, learning new skills and even working. Better still; parents can build up a relationship of trust before their children reach teenager-sometimes called the problem age. What needs to be realized is that the tendency to the slaves of fashion is actually the crying out a deeper need to be understood, recognized and loved. if parents, schools and other bodies can hear this cry above the mere outward expression of the adherence to fashion, or better still, stand by the youths before the rebellion begins, a lot of good can be achieved.
